How to Make a SGI Approved Auto Glass Windshield Claim
Windshield replacements for everyday vehicles are the simplest and most straightforward glass claims handled by Showtime Glass. With minimal effort from the customer, we make it easy to get you back on the road with a brand new windshield. Let’s take a look at the process for the
most common types of policies.
SGI Package Policies:
The best part about having glass coverage through an SGI package policy is that you don’t
need to file a claim with SGI to proceed with a windshield replacement. Simply call our shop,
make an appointment, and we’ll handle the rest. Here’s what we need from you:
● Personal Policy (Policy number starts with P-): Your Policy Number, License Plate
Number, and Date of Loss.
● Commercial Policy (Policy number starts with T-): Your Policy Number, the
Customer Number the vehicle is registered to (found on the registration), License Plate Number, and Date of Loss.
Once we have this information, Showtime Glass can confirm your coverage and deductible amount with SGI in minutes and proceed with the replacement. You’ll only pay your deductible at the time of your appointment, and Showtime will bill SGI directly for the remaining balance.
Standard SGI Insurance:
Did you know that you don’t need a package policy to have your windshield replacement covered by SGI? In the past, filing a claim wasn’t always financially beneficial, as out-of-pocket costs were usually lower than the standard $700 deductible. However, with most newer vehicles now equipped with safety systems that require calibration—adding to the cost—it might be a
useful option for some customers.
Just like with a package policy, there’s no need to set up a claim with SGI first. Simply call Showtime Glass, and we’ll handle the entire process for you. We’ll need the following information from you:
● Your Customer Number (D/L #)
● License Plate Number
● Date of Loss
With this information, we can confirm your coverage with SGI and proceed with the replacement. You’ll pay your $700 deductible at the time of your appointment, and we’ll bill SGI directly for the remaining balance.
Third Party Deductible Insurance
If you have a package policy through a third-party insurance provider like Sandbox, CAA, Cooperators, etc., the process will be a bit different. These providers bridge the gap between your policy’s deductible and SGI’s $700 deductible, so depending on the cost of the replacement, both could contribute to the claim.
While SGI doesn’t require a claim to be filed for a windshield replacement, some third-party providers do, so it’s always a good idea to contact your insurance company first to see if that applies to your provider. Once that's done, call Showtime Glass, and we’ll take care of the rest.
We’ll need the following information:
● Your Policy Number and Claim # (If applicable)
● Your SGI Customer Number (D/L)
● License Plate Number
● Date of Loss
We’ll then confirm coverage with both SGI and your provider, along with your deductible amount. You’ll pay your deductible to us at the time of your appointment, and we’ll bill both SGI and your provider directly for their portions.
Stone Chip Repairs
If you have a package policy with either a $50 or $100 road hazard glass deductible, you're covered for up to 3 free stone chip repairs per year. Just provide us with your policy number when you visit, and we’ll confirm your coverage while you wait. We will bill SGI directly for the
repairs. There is no deductible for stone chip repairs.
